Rape Culture

(Holy crap! I'm sorry, 11 readers~!! I haven't written here in forever. Mostly because I've slacked on my book reading. I'm really sorry about that. Okay. So, if you've been keeping up with my posts, and you read the first one, you'd know I'm a huge feminist. Yeah. A 12 year old feminist. How common is that? Anyways, here are some things that really bother me.

Victim blaming: The belief that when a girl is raped (or even a guy) it is her/his fault. People usually say 'she was asking for it' because she was wearing revealing clothes or 'sexy' things.
Why is this wrong? OH MY GOD. THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS WRONG WITH VICTIM BLAMING. A  girl should be able to wear anything she wants without the fear of being raped. She should be able to go out NAKED without the fear of being raped. It is never the victim's fault. It's the rapist's. ALWAYS.

Rape jokes: The most common ones are 'rape face' and 'rape memes.' (As if memes weren't terrible enough!) People talk about rape as if it's funny, something that happens so often that you can make it into a joke. 
Why is this wrong? BECAUSE RAPE IS DISGUSTING AND WRONG! YOU SHOULD NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BE MAKING JOKES ABOUT IT! I SWEAR TO GOD!

Now, I'm just going to share something that happened at my school. Last year, when I was going somewhere else, a teacher sexually abused his students. He was fired of course. Thank you.
But my crazy Christian, judgmental, rude enemy in the Bible Study Group (Read first post of this blog) was friends with the girl who was raped by that atrocity of a teacher..and her father told her he couldn't talk to her anymore because she was 'unpure!'
FIRST, IT WASN'T HER FAULT SHE WAS RAPED. 
SECOND, NOTHING IS WRONG WITH LOSING YOUR VIRGINITY. IN SHORT, VIRGINITY IS A STUPID TERM.
THIRD, THEY SHOULDN'T BE SHUNNING HER. THEY SHOULDN'T BE WASHING THEIR HANDS OF HER. THEY SHOULD BE SUPPORTING HER. THEY SHOULD BE STANDING UP AGAINST RAPE CULTURE AND BLAMING THE RAPIST.

GOD, I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SOCIETY. I JUST..UGH!!!
